I Choose Hope

As tragedy has struck my small hometown I cannot help but cry out to Jesus for comfort and healing for the families involved.  On Saturday night a 16 year old young man was killed in a car accident and three other individuals were injured.  I cannot even begin to imagine how they are feeling during this incredibly difficult time.

The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy but we have to remember in these difficult times that Jesus has come to give us life.  He comes to give us hope and to help us find comfort after the unthinkable happens.  He is here to comfort those who are hurting. Psalm 34:18 says “the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”  He is always near us and will carry us through the most difficult circumstances.

December is a difficult month for many as we think about the memories we have with loved ones who are no longer with us and we celebrate the holidays without them.  The pain of missing them is great but the promises we have from our Heavenly Father are amazing.  Things of this life do not make sense but we have to remember to choose Hope through the madness and chaos.

My dear friend, Callie, wrote and sang this song and sent it to me on the estimated due date, November 28th, of our precious baby girl.  I encourage you to listen to the words and remember God’s promises for us.

Please keep the Blomgren family in your prayers, the other three individuals who are hospitalized who have a long road to recovery, as well as the close knit communities the families are involved in.
